Shop update #392 (5-14-25)

It was our first 100° weekend here in Southern California so I pretty much didn’t do anything in the shop until Sunday night.

We got a large batch of new scouts that bridged into my sons’ troop so I was busy laser engraving new name plaques for them. These hang on a wall in the scout underneath large plaques of the different ranks. When they move up a rank, they get to move their name plaque over to that new rank. I made 24 in total and each one took 6 to 8 minutes to engrave.  Each one still needs to be sanded, finished, get 4 holes drilled (2 on top and t on bottom), hooks installed on top, and eyes installed on the bottoms.
