Shop update #408 (9-3-25)

I’m still working on that display stand for my friend’s Holiday Inn Christmas ornaments.

I finally got to use the thin strip jig that I bought for my table saw year to build out the face frame for the stand.

I cut down the frame pieces on the table saw.

I attached them using glue, clamps, and a few brad nails.

I used a hand saw to trim everything up.

Once everything dried up overnight, I sanded it down and gave the carcass a coat of black lacquer.  It’s going to get 2 or 3 more coats over the next ew days.

I also picked up an oak board to serve as the mantel and some red tinted wood stain for the simulated bricks.
