Shop update #409 (9-10-25)

I made some more progress on the ornament stand this weekend.
I gave it a couple more coats of the black lacquer and then let it dry overnight.  Once it was dry, I lightly sanded the whole thing and then gave it 2 more coats for a total of 5.

I had some leftover oak plywood that my father gave me a while back so I cut it down to size to fit the back of the stand.

I gave it 3 coats of a clear spray lacquer and then brad nailed it to the back.

I’m liking the look of it so far, but now I am thinking that I should have given it an oak face frame instead of the pine.

I’m also working on some new designs for the this year’s coffin lanterns.
