Shop update #415 (10-22-25)

On Saturday, My son and I cut down a couple of 8′ strips of plywood down to 6′ and drilled shelf pin holes in them.  This is for his shelf unit for his bedroom.

Do you remember the first box that I made for the Boy Scout Court of Honor that I didn’t like?

We attended a Troop Fair on Monday night and I wanted to use it for the event so I started marking it for hinges.

I really didn’t like the finish on it so I sanded it off with 60 grit and then 120 grit sandpaper.  I then installed the hinges.

The next step was to add some more of the same finish and it looks slightly better.  I’m still not happy with it but it will do the job that I need it to do.

I needed it to hold laser engraved, wooden challenge coins and laser engraved pencils for the Troop fair.  We took it to the fair on Monday night with some lights in the box and the Boy Scouts handed out the coins and pencils to the AOL Scouts in attendance.

During all of this, I went and helped with another Eagle Scout project for a few hours.
