Shop update #423 (12-17-25)

I attended 2 Friend Christmas party/gift exchange over the weekend and 1 work/IT Dept luncheon during the week.

I made 2 solo cup holders and laser engraved some glass ornaments to give out as presents.

I also received a last minute order to laser engrave 15 servings trays for a local Mortgage Broker.  Each one took about 17 minutes to engrave.  The trays are made from acacia wood and appear to be multiple different boards glued together and then sprayed with a tinted lacquer.  Since the wood under the lacquer wasn’t uniform it engraved lighter on the sapwood parts.  Once I saw what was happening I got some ebony wood stain and filled in the lighter parts.  It evened it out pretty well.  I explained the issue with the customer and he was happy with the final product.
