Shop update #325 (1-31-24)
I received a last minute request from a coworker to make sign for a wedding on February 4th. I cut out the letters on Friday night and gave them a coat of gray primer. He specifically requested that the date be cut out as 04.
I gave them a coat of white on Saturday morning, set them outside to dry and went to a family birthday party for the day.
I gave them a second coat of white paint on Sunday and set them to the side. I went to use my new table saw to cut out the piece for the back and remembered that it has a NEMA 20 plug. So I ended up using my old table saw and a circular saw to cut the piece down to size.
I then sanded it with 120 grit paper and applied some dark walnut stain.
I let that dry overnight and glued in the letters on Monday night.
Once the glue was dry I gave the whole thing 2 coats spray lacquer front and back. The front will receive 2 more coats tomorrow and then I will let it cure for 24 hours, give it a light sanding, install a sawtooth hanger, and deliver it on Thursday.
