Shop update #337 (4-25-24)

I received a last minute request from a good friend for 10 Lacrosse plaques for his son’s team.

I came up with a design and ran it by my buddy. I then went to Home Depot and picked up a full sheet of 1/8″ MDF and a full sheet of 1/4″ MDF. I cut them down into squares and used my laser to cut out out 10 name designs.  Each one took about 27 minutes to cut out.

Each backer design took about 22 minutes to cut out.  I also added an outline of the front design to help with alignment.

Each of the front plates got 2 coats of primer and then 2 coats of blue spraypaint.

We used CA glue to attach the top layer to the bottom layer.

I also made some logos for my car club.

Lots of little pieces of MDF got thrown away.
