Shop update #338 (5-1-24)
Every time that I walk by my X-Tool laser it smells like burnt. I’ve been meaning to clean off the honeycomb and base plate for a while now and finally had the time this weekend.
I saw a picture of a “Modern” cat condo last week and decided to see if I could make something similar.
I started out by cutting a template on my CNC.
I then cut some 3/4″ plywood down to size and used the template to mark out the spots that needed cutting out. I rough cut them with a jigsaw and then taped the template to the plywood and used the router table with a flush trim bit to finish up the cut outs.
I dry fit the project to make sure that I cut out all of the holes correctly.
The last step for the weekend was to glue an brad nail in some supports for the internal shelves.
I will stain and clear coat the inside this week and then assemble and finish the outside this coming weekend.
