Shop update #391 (5-7-25)

On Saturday, I worked on my brother’s house for the first half of the day and then attended the Concert under the Stars celebration for the band program at my son’s school.

I framed up my first stud wall and we installed it under the staircase to help brace up the new stairs that we will be installing.

My father and I then cut down a 4×12 beam to around 7 feet long and cut a bevel on one side to match the angle of the staircase.  We then installed it in place to further support the staircase.

On Sunday, I helped to install vinyl flooring in one room and then smashed the hell out of my ring finger and called it a day.

It was May the 4th so Star Wars was playing at my house for about 14 hours.  We watched Episode 4, then EP 5, then EP 6, then EP 1, EP2, and most of Rogue One.  This coming weekend I will be taking a break from construction and will start making about 25 name plaques for my son’s Boy Scout Troop.
