Shop update #169 (1-20-21)
We have an unfinished armoire that was given to my wife and I 20 years ago. It’s been sitting in my son’s room full of bed clothes. My mother in law decided that she wanted to hang her clothes in it so she went and bought a large dowel and some wood pole sockets.
I made a 1 1/2″ spacer board, measured in 9 inches, drilled some holes, and mounted the sockets.
The inside of the armoire was 33 1/3″ from wall to wall so I cut the dowel down to 33″.
The pole sockets are about 1/4″ thick but I put the dowel in place and marked it so that I could make it a snug fit.
Once it was cut to the correct size, I gave it a good sanding with 220 grit sandpaper, a couple of good coats of Boiled Linseed Oil, and then let it dry out side for a couple of days.
I also built the lid for the Treasure Chest that I started last weekend.
