Shop update #3 (11-29-17)

I finished the new workbench!
Last week was the Thanksgiving Holiday here in the United States.
We celebrated the holiday at my Parent’s house with family and had a great time.  My wife and her mother went shopping with my older boy on Friday so the younger son and I hung out for the day.  I was able to get the bottom shelf and bench top sanded, stained, and set aside to dry.

I also took apart the old workbench and threw it in the green waste bucket.

We had another Thanksgiving party on Saturday but I was able to make it outside for a couple of hours and get the bench assembled.

Late Sunday afternoon I got out to the bench long enough to sand the top surface with 220 grit sandpaper and give it 2 coats of Outdoor Spar Urethane.

This thing is built like a tank.  You could drop a small car engine on it and it wouldn’t flinch.
It is 8 feet long, 31″ tall, and 27″ wide.  It has 2 long slots down the length for clamps and 2 shorter boards at the end to
allow for cutting and drilling holes into boards without hitting the sides of the bench.

I am very happy with how this bench turned out.  Look for a video and full plans coming soon!

It’s so pleasant to watch and read about the journey of crafting a raw wood into a new work station. I loved the bright color combination. How long did you take to complete this piece..:??

Do you offer plans for the workbench that shows to use 4 X 4 legs?
