Shop update #355 (8-28-24) Laser Engraver table

I received the new x-axis cable from xTool on Thursday and was able to install it that night and get the D1 laser engraver up and running again.

I now have 2 laser engravers and the D1 is sitting in the middle of my outfeed/assembly table.  I’ve been meaning to build a dedicated table for it for some time so this weekend was it.

I moved it off the assembly table and got it out of the way so that I could use it to build the new table.

I started by cutting all of the legs and cross pieces down to size.

I then took them into the shop and built 2 assemblies that look like this.  These will be the left and right sides.

I then clamped them down to the table and screwed in the back pieces.

Everything was flipped over and I attached the front parts.

The last step was to screw in the shelves and table top.

The table is now in place and the laser engraver has been installed on it.  I also added a small lip around the top edges to keep it from easily falling off.  I designed the table to be a couple of inches larger than the laser so that I can build an enclosure in the future if I want to.
