Shop update #357 (9-11-24) New Halloween Lantern idea.

We’ve had a hot spell in Southern California for the last week.  It was 110° outside and 100° inside my shop so I spent the weekend inside my office working on ideas for items to sell for Halloween this year.  It was 103° yesterday but cooled down to the low 80’s by 8:00 pm so I opened the garage door and the man door and was able to blow some of the heat out of the shop and cut out a prototype on the laser.

This is my first idea and everything actually fit together pretty well.  I had to cut a last minute hatch in the back of the coffin to be able to put the tea light in.  I’m very happy with the results and need to come up with 4 more patterns to cut out of the front.

My son wants to make a project this weekend for one of his high school teachers.  It’s some kind of box/case to hold all of the students phones while they are in class.  He will be going over the ideas that they came up with and we will hopefully start on it this weekend.
