Shop update #366 (11-13-24) Testing out the new laser and building up more stock for the craft show

I received a big order for customized desk organizer boxes for a corporate client so I went to my local hardwood dealer and picked up $500 worth of hickory and cherry 1/4″ thick blanks.

I bought a few extras of each and used one for testing feeds and speeds on the new laser.

I used the time this weekend to get started on the big order.  All of the box pieces that you see have been cut and test fit but I need to take them apart and sand the insides, glue them together, let them dry, sand the outside, and then apply finish.  I need to make a total of 40 boxes.

While the boxes were cutting I had the other laser cutting more stuff for the craft show.

I stopped by Walmart on the way home last night and picked up some glass ornaments to do some testing on.

I also shot the coffin lantern update video last night and hope to have it ready and released on YouTube on Friday morning.
