Shop update #448 (6-10-26)

When I first built my outfeed table it was 4 feet wide by 2 feet deep and I installed medium sized caster wheels on one side so that I could move it around.

I kept it that size for about 6 months and then I took it apart and made it 4 foot x 4 foot, leaving the caster wheels on the front and life was good.

A month later, I added a layer of hardboard to the top of the table and life was good.

Until I needed to cut sheet goods into large pieces.

The side with the castor wheels catches the wood when I cut anything over 18″ wide and I have to lift it to make it over the hump.

I generally make all of my cuts with the fence on the right side of the blade so I tackled that side first.

I basically made a new foot to replace where the castor wheel was and made it 1/4″ shorter.  It nows cuts without catching.

I still need to lower the other side but there is a bunch of wood all piled up next to the saw so that is a problem for future Donald.
