Shop update #456 (8-5-26)

I was gone for most of the weekend but I was still able to get some work done on the latest Apothecary Cooler Box build.

I sanded down all of the filler and the entire box with 120 grit sandpaper and softened the edges with a black sanding sponge.

I’m still getting used to the vacuum hose and I didn’t notice that it weighed down the sander on one side so I burned through some of the top veneer layer on the plywood.

Once the sanding was complete, I gave the box a good coat of stain.

I let the stain dry over night and then gave it, it’s first coat of amber shellac.  It will receive anywhere from 3 to 5 coats depending on how it looks.
