Shop update #465 (10-7-26) speaker box
Once a month, a bunch of people get together in the city that I live in and we ride our ebikes, bikes, and electric scooters around town. Most of them are lit up with LED lights and have some kind of speakers attached. The leader of the cruise has a really big e-bike and pulls a trailer full of speakers behind him. We usually make about a 12 mile look with a couple of breaks during the ride. I’ve been wanting to add some speakers to my scooter for a while now and finally go the chance to build a system for it.
A friend of mine works for POWERBASS and donated a set of LED 6.5″ marine speakers to the cause. I bought a 200 watt bluetooth amplifier off of amazon and an adaptor to fit my RYOBI 18V power tool batteries. I built the box out of 1/2″ MDF, painted it with some black spray lacquer and wired everything together. I am very happy with how loud and clear the system sounds. I also built a quick little wooden box for the rear basket to hold all of the batteries and amp.
