I found a vintage/antique store that gave me lots of great ideas for future projects.

I recently had to go get new tires for my car. I have 18″ wheels with low profile tires and the best prices are always at this little tire shop in La Habra, CA not too far from where I work. I’ve been going there for over 10 years. I usually just sit inside and read a book while they work on my car. This time I decided to go across the street to a little restaurant and found this Vintage/Antique store next to it.

I just looked it up on the web and it is called Magnolia Antiques and Gift Store. I can’t tell you how many times I have driven past this place. I decided to go inside and take a look around. It’s hard to tell from the outside but it is huge inside! It’s setup into many different rooms all with different themes. I saw a lot of antique looking furniture that I would like to try to make. I wish that I would have had a tape measure and notebook with me. I may try going back some weekend and see if I can pay them a few bucks to let me wander around and take measurements.

This was by far my favorite piece that I found. I was sorely tempted to buy it but we just don’t have the room for it at my house. I am hoping to build something similar to it later this year to give as a gift to my mother. I’m guessing that you would call it a writing desk.
