Shop update #129 (4-15-20)

On Thursday night, I came up with an idea for an Easter Egg project for the weekend so I designed it up and carved them out on the CNC machine.

Saturday morning I rough cut them on the band saw and then sanded them down into their final shapes.

On Sunday morning, we painted them.

After egg painting I pulled out the Mandalorian and Armorer helmets.  I trimmed and then rounded them over on the router table and gave them 3 coats of paint each .

My wife surprised my boys with kittens for Easter.  I made a quick trip to Home Depot and picked up 4 – 4′ x 8′ x 1/8″ MDF panels that were in the cull section for less than $10.  I had them cut in half length wises and took them home.  I then cut them into several 24″x 24″ panels to build a small temporary enclosure for the kittens until they get used to the house.

I also took the broken pieces of MDF and cut them down into a bunch of 6″ x 6″ squares.  I’m thinking making some kind of large picture or painting out of them but I’m not really sure yet what I am going to do with them.
