Shop update #176 (3-10-21)
It was another busy weekend with too much to do and not enough time to do it. I was able to work on the treasure chest for a couple of hours on Saturday afternoon.
I have an old leather belt that I wore for the better part of 10 to 12 years. It finally broke where it loops around the buckle and I have been saving it for the right project.
I cut it down into 3 – 10″ lengths and punched a couple of holes into each end using an awl.
I slightly bunched them up and screwed them into the treasure chest to make handles. I don’t know how well they will stand up to being out side in the sunlight but it will be interesting to find out.
I’m also working on a prototype for a Cub Scout bridging ceremony plaque for my son’s Cub Scout Patrol. They will all be going over to Boy Scouts later this month.
We spent the day Sunday hiking up to Eagle Rock with my son’s Cub Scout Patrol. It’s a 6 mile round trip hike and the boys did very well.
