Shop update #194 (7-14-21)
Do you remember the mini mud kitchens that I made a few weeks ago? I sold them on Facebook MarketPlace and received a few inquiries asking if I had a bigger sized version. I designed a medium mud kitchen in Sketchup out of 2×3’s and cedar fence pickets. I built one this weekend to put up for sale and see if I can find any takers.
I started by cutting all the 2×3’s and fence pickets down to size and sanding them with 120 grit sandpaper on my orbital sander..
I built the main carcass using 3″ screws and a few strategically places pocket holes. I attached the skirts with glue and 1 1/2″ staples.
After hand painting the mini mud kitchens I bought an airless paint sprayer on Amazon for around $70. It worked terrible until I realized that I had failed to tighten the front ring around the spray nozzle. Once I did that it worked great! It cut my painting time down by at least half.
I also stained the rest of the fence pickets and gave them one coat of spar urethane. They will receive 3 more coats once I have the time.
