Shop update #198 (8-11-21)

It was hot this weekend so I stayed inside and designed a new movie fan art piece to carve out on the CNC. I ran into some technical difficulties at the end and wasn’t able to make the 2 nd pass for the finishing details. I am going to try and run a recovery pass later in the week.

We put a door screen over the doorway to my son’s room to try and keep the cats out. As expected, they found a way to get underneath it so I helped him to make a wooden plate out of some scrap 2×4 to attach to the bottom of the screen to give it some weight. He measured it to length and cut it on the mitre saw. We then measured the doorway again and he cut out 3/8″ x 2″ notches in the sides with the bandsaw. After a good sanding, we gave it a few coats of white spray paint and let it dry overnight. The next day he put it in place and stapled the bottom of the screen to it.
