Shop update #343 (6-5-24) bigger, better, outfeed table

One of the first things that I built after getting my table saw was an out feed table for it.  It is 2′ x 4′ x 35″.  It has castors on one end and 3 1/2″ x 3″ feet on the other side.  It has worked well as an outfeed table but has been a little limited as an assembly table.  I’m going to fix that.

The first step was to remove all of the horizontal rails holding the 2 sides together.

I also removed the back legs as they were about a quarter inch taller than the legs with the castors.  I trimmed them down on the mitre saw.

Once they were trimmed I also cut down some 2 x 4’s into new, longer, horizontal stretchers.  I installed them in place of the old stretchers.

2 pieces of OSB got screwed to the top.

I reused the 2 smaller pieces of OSB from the old configuration and added one more to make the bottom shelf.

I am very happy with the larger size and am already working on a new project on it.
