Shop update #183 (4-28-21)

On Wednesday night I was asked to make some plaques for the Pack 2017 AOL bridging ceremony that I was attending on Saturday afternoon.

I had a 1 x 8 x 24 piece of poplar leftover from another project on hand so I made 3 medium sized plaques from that board.

Friday night, I had a fan blowing on them after I had applied the medium walnut danish oil finish.  It managed to fall off of the stool it was sitting on and snap the fan blade.  It was cheaper to replace the fan rather than fix it so my son and I took it apart.  We now have a motor on a stick.  If anybody has any ideas of what we can make with it, please leave a comment.

On Saturday morning we attended the Pack 803 AOL bridging ceremony.  This is the pack that my older son was a member of before he bridged to Boy Scouts.  5 of the Cub Scouts from the Pack bridged over into his troop as well so we attended the ceremony.  Out in the parking lot I saw the boxes that I had built for them for their pinewood derby track.

At the ceremony we saw the bridge that my son’s patrol had raised the money for and that I had built for them.

At the Pack 2017 Bridging I saw the bridge that I had helped the other leaders to build.

On Sunday I took the last of the scrap plywood leftover from the Eagle Scout project that I had helped with last April and made a raised planter box for my wife.
