Shop update #323 (1-17-24)

I installed the last overhead storage rack in the shop this weekend.  They are now officially finished!

I picked up a single 8′ 2×4 at Home Depot and cut it down into 4 – 45″ 2×2’s.  I also cut a piece of OSB down into 23″x45″ for the shelf.

As I was locating the studs, I found one that was about 47″ down the wall from the last shelf so I cut a spare piece of 2×2 at 48″ and mounted that piece to the wall for the extra support.
The wall support had 4 screws driven into studs and the ceiling support only had 2 so I added a 75 lb wall anchor to each end just to give it a little added strength.

The shop is still messy but it is progressing nicely.

My new table saw is scheduled to be delivered by the freight company today!  Here is a little hint…..
