Shop update #60 (12-19-18)

I spent Saturday morning working on Christmas presents (pictures next week).  The whole family went to Scout night at our local minor league hockey team that evening.  My younger son and wife got to go out on the ice to help present the giant American Flag and the older boy got to go on the ice to help collect Teddy Bears that had been thrown on the rink to help support a charity.  It was a very fun experience for all.

Sunday afternoon I worked more on the TVLiftCabinet.com project.  I got the bottom, sides, and rear completely skinned with 1/8″ plywood.  It is all held in with glue and 1/2″ staples.  All the pieces for the front are cut as well but not attached yet.  The plan was to get the 22″ monitor and other hardware installed and then attach the front pieces using 3/4″ screws.  It turns out that the mounting holes for the monitors are much smaller than the mounting holes for a television and it didn’t fit.  I’m going to have to take the 32″ TV from my house, mount it in place, film the rest of the video, and then take it back apart to remove the TV.

Sunday night my older son designed a quick neckerchief slide on the CNC machine for a slide exchange that was held at his Troop meeting on Monday.  We cut it out and he sanded them smooth by hand.

Monday and Tuesday night I worked on the Christmas presents for a couple more hours.  I have a couple more to get finished but I’m hoping to have everything ready for wrapping by Sunday morning.
